In an area rightly devoted to the ultimate Lucanian grape, Aglianico del Vulture, Malvasia is traditionally one of the few white-berry varieties, especially in the coldest and steepest vineyards, where Aglianico del Vulture finds it hard to properly mature. Gelso Bianco is produced using exclusively Malvasia grapes, usually harvested in mid-September. Vinified and aged entirely in steel.
